BOARD OF DIRECTORS

As a Chartered Accountant, and CPA, and having been CFO of a NASDAQ traded company, we are ideally suited for Non-Executive Board roles, for companies with an international focus. 

Currently we serve on the Strategic Advisory Board for the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, as well as two privately owned companies.  We have also served as Chairman of The Ken-Caryl Water District (Colorado), and as a Board Representative for a number of Private Equity investments.

INTERIM CFO/COO/CEO FOR PRIVATE EQUITY PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

As our case studies demonstrate, among a portfolio of companies with revenues ranging from $10 million to $200 million, we been able to increase the profitability by $1 million to $14 million.   These assignments typically last from 4 months to two years, and often result in the sales of those companies as an exit strategy for their PEG owners.

PROFIT IMPROVEMENT ANALYSIS

Because the methodologies used to increase the profitability of client companies come from the same basic fundamental principles - after all, finance is the universal language of all businesses - we have developed an analytical program which over the course of a few weeks is able to identify the potential for increased profits a company can obtain by implementing many of our best practices.

SPEAKING/TEACHING ENGAGEMENTS

We have developed a number of academic presentations to teach how to implement the best practices from "Failure Is Not An Option", our book described elsewhere on this site.  These presentations expand from a brief summary, crafted for delivery at conferences as a "Keynote Speech" or "Breakout Session", to a full day course, taught as a CPE program, to a full accredited course which has been taught as a Capstone to business students at the University of Northern Colorado.

Philip Varley - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Philip Varley, FCA, MBA, CPA, has over 30 years of experience increasing profitability of businesses around the world.

Beginning his professional career as a Chartered Accountant in the UK, he moved to the US in 1985 and since 1989 has held senior financial and operational roles.  For the last 15 years, he has focused on enhancing the profitability of Private Equity owned portfolio companies, enabling a significant increase in valuation.
